Vacation: The Teacher’s Dream (Unless you are in Graduate School)

Ah, February break. The teacher’s dream. A week off in between the post-December chaos and the long stretch before Spring break. That is, unless you are in graduate school. Especially when graduate school doesn’t close for February break. At least class was cancelled one night this week. The other I missed because we trekked down to NY for a few days of Broadway.

In my bag was a planning book for my phonics group, things to plan for my tutoring sessions this coming week and my laptop. Normally I bring my laptop so I can watch my shows on a larger screen than my iPad. That happened at night but during the day I was applying for jobs, planning and trying to get ahead on classwork. The beauty of a long train ride going to and from NY. It was a relaxing vacation but exhausting. I am excited to sit at home and not do anything for the next few days.

Just kidding about that too. I mean sit on the couch with all the graduate school work I left behind because I didn’t want to pack everything from my desk. I am so excited to be done with my masters degree this spring….
