Welcome, My Name Is…
The first day of school usually starts something like this:
“Welcome! My name is X and welcome to X grade!”
“I am so excited to meet you all! I can’t wait to spend X grade with you and learn with you!”
“I hope you all had a great summer! Who is ready to learn in X grade?”
Now, whether or not your classroom sounds like that on the first day, these are variations on what I heard over the past two years and what I envision myself saying when I am a lead teacher. To me, this post is my first day of school speech. Just like the adventure of a new school year, this blog is a new adventure for me. It is extremely focused on education and all my ideas are my own (with a lot of help of resources and other teachers).
I will admit: I am nervous. This is the first time I take ownership over educational ideas and my own feelings and thoughts on what I see day-to-day. This is also the most I have written for a blog in months. It is a nice feeling getting back on the horse. I am excited for things to come and definitely keep checking back to see as things develop more. The site is still very much under construction!
Disclaimer: A lot of what I say you might not agree with. I am going to do my best to research as much as I can when writing posts and keeping it as general or focused in my experiences as I can. I welcome the conversations! Thank you in advance for welcoming me into the circle of educators in the technology world.
