Writing Revamped

When I started at the school I am working at I was introduced to a new writing program called SRSD (Self-Regulated Strategy Develpmemt). After a year I learned to love it for so many reasons and those deserves their own post. This year the kiddos got pushed in expectations for writing and are growing so much. The most exciting about my current classroom I am in is the opportunity to try not one, but two new programs. We are trying Reflex math and we just started ThinkCERCA for our writing program.

Our kids will be using Chrome Books and the program to walk them through stages of analyzing and responding to a text. The coolest thing about the program is all the work you do is immediately available to you through tabs on the side as you move through the steps of the program. They are excited about the computers. I am really excited about seeing how their writing grows with this method of instruction. I can see it being helpful for our kiddos with OT problems or kids who prefer to type.

More on the results soon because we are just starting the program. Right now we are just going through the steps on paper and computers come soon.
